A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth and surrounding tissue. It is made to closely resemble your natural teeth or make improvements in your smile.
When it is necessary to remove natural teeth, Dr. Schmidt fabricates an immediate complete denture prior to any extractions. After the teeth are removed the immediate complete denture is placed to act as an oral bandage. It is not necessary for the patient to go any time without teeth. Dr. Schmidt follows the patient through the healing phase very carefully to ensure that the denture fits comfortably and properly.

When significant bone loss is present in the lower arch, a lower denture with a long-term soft liner may provide the comfort needed for improved function. Dr. Schmidt's original research in developing the use of long-term soft liners has made him an internationally recognized authority of this process.
