Dental implants can be placed in the jawbone to secure dentures or partial dentures. Implant supported dentures are either removable or fixed into place. A removable implant supported denture requires fewer implants and allows the patient to remove the denture for cleaning purposes. A fixed implant supported denture requires more implants and is non-removable (if necessary your Prosthodontist can remove it). Implant retained dentures provide stability and security that many denture wearers enjoy. An upper implant supported denture exposes the palate to normal feeling and tasting.
